Araceli Guillen, also known as Chely, recently moved to the Portland area but has resided most of her life in the state of Oregon. Araceli began working at the Center for Non-Profit Legal Services in Medford, Oregon at the age of 17 and remained with them for over 10 years until her relocation to Portland. She has specifically worked in the immigration field for the last 5 years as a legal assistant.
As a legal assistant, Araceli worked with the immigration attorney in preparing documents for cases such as victims of crimes and domestic violence victims. She also assisted in preparing other types of cases such as family petitions, consular processing, Temporary Protected Status, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Coming from a family of immigrants and being a first generation Mexican American has fueled Araceli’s passion to help people achieve their dreams of gaining legal status in the United States. She speaks Spanish fluently.
